Drew Bishop rejoins the Texas Baseball program as Director of Baseball Operations under head coach Jim Schlossnagle. Bishop, who also played for the Longhorns from 2005-08, previously served as director of operations for 13 seasons from 2009-21.
Following his first stint with Texas Baseball, Bishop was Scouting Director for Five Tool Baseball from 2021-24 and also ran the Five Tool North Texas Summer Collegiate League.
He will direct the team’s day-to-day operations, including team travel, overseeing camps and on-campus recruiting visits, along with helping organize the yearly Alumni Weekend, planning the budget, and scheduling.
The Dallas native played four seasons for late head coach Augie Garrido after a standout career at Rockwall High School. During his playing time with the Longhorns, Texas went 182-76 (.705) including winning the 2005 College World Series.
Bishop earned the Longhorn Academic Spirit Award in 2006 and 2007, the UT Teammate of the Year Award in 2007 and 2008, and the Student Services Most Inspired Performance Award in 2008. He was also a member of the 2008 Academic All-Big 12 first team and earned his degree in sport management in 2008.
Bishop and his wife, Mary, have two sons, Coy and Gray.
