Drew Bishop enters his 15th season as the director of baseball operations at Texas.
He is responsible for the team's day-to-day operations, including team travel, overseeing camps and on-campus recruiting visits. Bishop also helps organize the yearly Alumni Weekend, the budget and scheduling.
A freshman on the Longhorns' 2005 national championship team, Bishop is in his second stint on staff. He previously served as the director of operations from 2009-21.
Following his initial 13-year run as member of the support staff, Bishop became the scouting director for Five Tool Baseball from 2021-24. Additionally, he managed the Five Tool North Texas Summer Collegiate League.
The right-handed pitcher played four seasons for the late Hall of Fame skipper Augie Garrido. During his playing career in burnt orange, Texas went 182-76 (.705), highlighted by winning the 2005 College World Series.
Bishop garnered the Longhorn Academic Spirit Award in 2006 and 2007, the UT Teammate of the Year Award in 2007 and 2008, and the Student Services Most Inspired Performance Award in 2008. He was also named to the 2008 Academic All-Big 12 first Team.
The Rockwall, Texas, native earned his degree in sport management in 2008.
Bishop and his wife, Mary, have two sons, Coy and Gray.
