Ashley Reid joins the staff as the Director of Operations for Texas Track & Field/Cross Country this year. She joined the support staff just prior to the start of the indoor season after serving in multiple roles at her alma mater, Colorado State.
As director of operations at Texas, Reid handles the day-to-day operations of the program working closely with the coaching staff on scheduling as well as organizing and planning team travel during the season and other administrative duties.
Most recently Reid assisted the football coaching staff at CSU as the director of football administration and community relations. She served in this role since August 2016 where she was the direct assistant to head coach Mike Bobo and managed all aspects of the program’s budget including travel and camps.
Before working with the football team at Colorado State, Reid was director of operations and horizontal jumps for the Rams. Reid managed the team budget and assisted the head coach with the day-to-day operation of the program and handled various administrative duties.
Reid also was a standout student-athlete at Colorado State. She qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in 2013 in the high jump finishing in 19th place.
Prior to Colorado State, Reid was a star at the junior college level for Johnson County. Reid was runner-up four times at the NJCAA Championships, three times in the high jump and once in the triple jump.
She earned USTFCCCA National Field Event Athlete of the Year both indoors and out in 2012 for her performances at the championship meets. Indoors that year she finished second in the high jump and triple jump while taking 12th in the long jump. Outdoors in 2012, Reid was second in the high jump, fourth in the triple, sixth in long jump and ran on the 4x100 relay that finished seventh. Her outdoor performance helped Johnson County finish fifth that year the NJCAA Championships.
Reid earned her bachelor’s degree in liberal arts with a minor in media studies from Colorado State University in 2014. During her time with the Rams, Reid received the 2014 Wilma Rudolph Student-Athlete Achievement Award. She also earned Mountain West All-Academic Award in 2012 and 2011.
