2022-23 (Junior)
OUTDOOR: Finished sixth in the 200m (20.89) and eighth in the 100m (10.38) at the Longhorn Invitational... Competed in both short sprints at the USF Bulls Invitational finishing third in the 100m (10.22w) and sixth in the 200m (21.07w)... Competed in three events at the 95th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays and ran the 100m in 10.34w, was the first leg of the 4x100 that finished with a time of 39.80 and was the opening leg of the 4x200 relay that finished second with a time of 1:20.97... Ran the 100m (10.35), 200m (21.56w) and the first leg of the 4x100 (39.26) at the Tom Jones Memorial... Ran the 200m in 21.54 at the Texas Invitational... Was part of the 4x100 relay team that finished second at the Big 12 Championships with a time of 38.89, 11th in the 100m (10.41) and 16th in the 200m (21.09)... Reached the NCAA West Prelims in the 100m and helped the 4x100 relay qualify for the NCAA Championships... Finished 12th at the NCAA Championships in the 4x100 with a time of 38.73 - tied for the 2nd fastest time in UT history.
INDOOR: Was third in the 60m dash at the Cardinal Classic with his time of 6.75 and ninth in the 200m with his time of 21.63... Ran the 200 at the Dr. MLK Jr. Invitational in 21.38 and finished the 60 in 6.87... Competed in both the 60 and 200 at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic... Ran the 60 (6.84) and the 200 (21.54) at the Tiger Paw Invite... Ran a PB in the 60m prelims at the Big 12 Championships with a time of 6.70 and ran the 200 prelims in 21.28...
2021-22 (Sophomore)
OUTDOOR: Recorded two top-two finishes in the 100m and the 200m at the Longhorn Invitational. Ran the 100m in 10.33 (2.6) and a set a personal-best in the 200m at 20.50 seconds and now ranks as the No. 8 performer in UT history... Ran a wind-aided time of 10.18 in the 100m at the Texas Relays, helped the Longhorns win the 4x200 relay with a time of 1:29.03 and led them to a second-place finish in the 4x100... Finished fourth in the 100m (10.44), sixth in the 200m (21.07) and was the opening leg of the winning 4x100 relay that finished with a time of 39.08... Ran a personal-best time of 10.30 in the 100m finals at Mt. SAC Relays, competed in the 200m and helped Texas win the 4x100 relay with a time of 39.27...Ran the 200m at the LSU Invitational and ran the opening leg of the 4x100 that finished with a time of 39.30… Helped Texas to a team title at the Big 12 Championships after finishing sixth in the 100m, 11th in the 200m and was the runner-up in the 4x100 as the opening leg… Helped Texas advance to the NCAA Championships in the 4x100 relay… Ran the opening leg of the 4x100 relay that finished sixth at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
INDOOR: Opened the season at the Clemson Invitational in the 60m dash and the 200m dash, finishing 10th in the 200m at 21.73 seconds... Ran the 60m dash in 6.82 seconds and the 200m in 21.68 seconds at the Red Raider Open... Ran a PB in the 60m dash with a time of 6.73 in the semis at the Tiger Paw Invite and ran the 200m in 21.50.
2020-2021 Season (Freshman):
OUTDOOR:Ran a personal-best in the 400m at the Longhorn invitational in 49.26... Ran the 200m in 21.54 and helped the 4x100 to a third-place finish with a 40.36 time... Ran PBs in the 100m (10.65) and the 200m (21.33) at the dual meet against Texas A&M... Competed in the 200m and the 4x100 relay at the Michael Johnson Invitational... Was part of the 4x100 that finished fourth at 39.76 seconds at the LSU Alumni Gold Meet, while also running the 100m and 200m... Competed in the 100m and 200m at the Texas Invitational... Runner-up at the Big 12 Championships in the 4x100... Part of the NCAA 4x100 relay team that finished 8th with a time of 39.09.
INDOOR:Opened his collegiate career at the Texas Tech Corky Classic in the 60m (7.06) and the 200m (21.68)... Finished fifth at the Wooo Pig Classic in the 60m while running a PB at 6.89 seconds, finished sixth in the 200m at 21.72 seconds.
HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered three times in track and twice in football at Frenship … set the school record in the 200m and 4x200m … a district champion in the 100m, 200m, 4x100m and 4x200m during his high school career … also an area champion in the 200m, 4x100m and 4x200m.
PERSONAL: Son of Donte Garland Sr. and Monique Tiggs … has one brother, Donte Jr., and two sisters, Latifah Kelly and Erica Tiggs … the first member of his family to attend The University of Texas … began competing in track at age 11.
