2023-24
OUTDOOR: Won his third-straight Texas Relays decathlon title with the No. 3 performance in NCAA history (8,708 points).... Threw for a PB in the discus with a throw of 58.70m (192-7) and the Mt. SAC Relays and ran the 110m hurdles in 14.63...
INDOOR: Began the season at the Rod McCravy Memorial Invite record a PB in shot put (17.10m 56-1.25), ran the 60m hurdle prelims in 8.36 and was part of the 4x400 relay... Competed at the Dr. MLK Jr. Invite in the long jump setting a new PB at 7.90m (25-11) and cleared 4.94m (16-2.5) in pole vault... Set a personal best in the heptathlon with a score of 6,219 points, becoming the No. 5 performer in NCAA history at the NM Collegiate Classic... Won the Big 12 Indoor long jump event with a mark of 7.92m (26-0) and finished 15th in shot put with a throw of 16.49m (54-1.25).... Won the NCAA indoor heptathlon title with a personal best, UT Record and German National Record score of 6,347 points on his way to earning Regional and National athlete of the year honors.
2022-23 (Senior)
OUTDOOR: Broke the Texas Relays program record in the decathlon scoring 8,478 points, setting personal bests in the 100m (10.75), shot put (16.66m), 110mH (14.33) and the pole vault (5.10m) to become the No. 5 performer in collegiate history... Ran the 100m in 10.69w, the 110H in 14.35w and threw for 48.26m(158-8) at the Texas Invitational... Scored in two events at the Big 12 Championships - the long jump finishing 3rd with a jump of 7.66m (25-1.75) and the sixth in discus with a throw of 53.08m (174-2)... Became the NCAA decathlon champion with a NCAA Championships, Texas, stadium and NCAA record score of 8,836 points and broke the 29-year Germany National Record along the way. He broke five PRs along the way (100, 400, discus, pole vault and javelin)... Finished fifth at the World Athletics Championships after posting the second-best day 1 score in decathlon history finishing with 8,645 points.
INDOOR: Began the season as the runner-up in long jump at the Commonwealth College Opener with a jump of 7.30m (23-11.5)... Cleared 4.78m (15-8.25) in the pole vault at the Cardinal Classic... Ran the 60m in 7.01 seconds and cleared 4.97m (16-3.5) at the Tiger Paw Invite... Finished fourth in the long jump at the Big 12 Championships with a jump of 7.59m (25-11)... Finished third at the NCAA Indoor Championships in the heptathlon scoring 6,214 points to set the Texas program record...
2021-22 (Junior)
OUTDOOR: Climbed the Texas all-time list to No. 3 in the decathlon after winning the event by scoring 8,131 points after personal bests in the shot put (15.96m), 400m (48.21), the 110m hurdles (14.76), javelin (49.00m) and in the 1500m (4:48.99)... Finished third in the discus with a throw of 50.85m (166-10) in the dual meet against Texas A&M... Finished sixth in the long jump at the Mt. SAC Relays with his jump of 7.61mw (24-11.75)... Competed in the 110m hurdles and the pole vault at the Michael Johnson Invite... Ran a personal-best time of 10.96 in the 100m and threw for 15.75m (51-8.25) in the shot put at the LSU Invitational… Set a PB in the 110m hurdles (14.59) and the discus (53.69m) while finishing fifth in the discus and long jump at the Big 12 Championships... NCAA Runner-Up in the men's decathlon with the second-best score 8,362 points in Texas history behind Trey Hardee... Along the way, he set a PB in the 100m dash (10.87), won the long jump (7.60m), won the shot put with a PB (16.00m), set another PB in the high jump at 2.07m, won the discus with a throw of 50.77m, recorded a PB in Javelin at 53.12m and finished with a PB of 4:41.68 in the 1500m to give him the world standard in the dec... Competed for Germany in the decathlon at the 2022 World Championships and finished 10th in the world with his score of 8,182 points.
INDOOR: Competed in four events at the Clemson Invitational, setting a personal-best time in the 60mH at 8.28 seconds... Finished fourth in the long jump with a jump of 7.70m (25'3.25"), 10th in the shot put with a throw of 15.4mm (50'8") and helped the Texas B 4x400 relay finish fifth with a time of 3:17.49... Won the heptathlon at the Texas Tech Open & Multis meet with a personal-best score of 6,021 points - sparked by a personal-best 60m hurdles time of 8.18... Competed in the open long jump and finished fifth with a jump of 7.55m and seventh in the pole vault at 4.87m at the Big 12 Championships... Finished third in the heptathlon with 6,148 points moving up to No. 2 on the Texas all-time list and helped Texas win its first ever NCAA Team Title.
2020-21 (Sophomore)
OUTDOOR: Began the outdoor season in the dual meet against Texas A&M and set a personal-best time in the 110 hurdles at 14.87 seconds to finish sixth, was the runner-up in shot put at 15.62m/51'3" and third in discus at 50.80m/166'8"... Won the decathlon at the Roadrunner Invitational with 7,621 points... Finished seventh in discus at the Texas Invitational with his mark of 50.03m/164'2"... Championed the decathlon at the Big 12 Championships with a personal-best score of 7,793 points and competed inn the pole vault, long jump and discus... Finished fourth at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the decathlon with 7,679 points.
INDOOR: Competed in six indoor meets... Started the season at the Texas Tech Corky Classic in the 60m (7.14), finished second in the long jump with a mark of 7.59m/24'11" and ninth in the shot put with a mark of 15.21m/49'11"... Recorded a personal-best mark in the pole vault at the Wooo Pig Classic at 5.05m/16'6.75" for a third-place finish... Championed the heptathlon at the Texas Tech Invitational with a personal-best score of 5,960 points after four first place finishes in the long jump (7.57m/24'10"), shot put (15.94m/52'3.75"), high jump (2.06m/6'9") and the pole vault (5.00m/16'4.75")... Finished eighth in the long jump at the Tyson Invitational with a mark of 7.45m/24'5.5"... Was the runner-up in the long jump with a mark of 7.68m/25'2.5", sixth in pole vault with a mark of 4.98m/16'4" and 10th in high jump at 1.99m/6'6.25"... Finished 11th at the NCAA Indoor Championships in the heptathlon with 5,125 points.
2019-20 (Freshman)
OUTDOOR: 2020 season canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic.
INDOOR: Competed twice during his first collegiate season … was a mid-year enrollee at UT … debuted at the Tiger Paw Invitational in Clemson, S.C. on Valentine’s Day weekend … competed in the 60m, 60m hurdles, 4x400m and pole vault … completed his first collegiate heptathlon at the Big 12 Indoor Championships … scored 5,848 points en route to winning the Big 12 title … his score made him the fifth-best performer in school history in the heptathlon … won the pole vault (4.97m/16-3.5), shot put (15.34m/50-4) and the long jump (7.31m/23-11.75) competitions … placed second in the high jump (2.02m/6-7.5) … took fifth in the 60m hurdles (8.47) … raced to an eighth-place finish in the 60m (7.12) and 10th in the 1000m (2:54.56) … was 157 points clear of his closest competitor in the event.
BEFORE TEXAS: Was the top-ranked under-20 decathlete in the world in 2019, scoring a personal-best 7,886 … set five personal bests in individual events en route to his U20 world-leading decathlon mark at the U20 Mehrkampf-Meeting … ran the 100m in 11.08, 400m in 49.82, posted marks of 2.07m in the high jump, 7.59 in the long jump and 16.38m in the shot put … won the decathlon at the 2019 German U20 CE Championships in Ulm with a score of 7,792 … placed fourth at the 2019 European U20 Championships with a 7,669-point tally.
