Texas Athletics Hall of Honor member Juliann Faucette joins the Texas Volleyball staff as Player Development Consultant for the 2024 season.
Most recently, Faucette served as the Girls Volleyball Program Manager for St. Stephen’s Episcopal School in Austin. In addition to her coaching duties at St. Stephen’s, she served as the sports information director as well as the diversity, equity and inclusion team lead.
“We are excited to officially bring Juliann on as a consultant to our player development,” Elliott said. “She is one of the legends who rebuilt this program. For all of her hard work and dedication to The University of Texas, she was awarded the highest honor in being elected into the Hall of Honor in 2020. Juliann is an amazing person who built her career on hard work and competing at the highest level. She embodied ‘people, dedication and excellence’ during her time on the Forty Acres as a captain of our program, and she continues to do this in her daily life. She will bring tremendous energy to our program as a great sounding board for our student-athletes to grow on and off the court. She also is an amazing parent and mother, and our players will love having her part of our staff.”
During her stellar four-year career at Texas from 2007-10, Faucette was named the 2007 Big 12 Freshman of the Year, the AVCA National Freshman of the Year and the 2010 Big 12 Conference Player of the Year. A three-time All-American, she helped lead Texas to three-straight NCAA Semifinals appearances, including its first since 1995. During her junior season in 2009, Johnson garnered All-America Second Team recognition and helped UT reach the NCAA Championship match.
Faucette was inducted into the Texas Athletics Hall of Honor in 2020, becoming the 16th former Longhorn volleyball player to be bestowed with the honor.
"I am thrilled to be joining the top program in the country,” Faucette said. “This opportunity is a culmination of a lifelong dream for me. I am eager to contribute to the program that has had such a significant impact on my life and career. I have so much respect for Jerritt and his staff, and I am honored to join such a decorated program. I look forward to sharing my experiences as both a player and coach with the talented women on the team and contributing to our pursuit of another championship."
Faucette embarked on a long and successful professional volleyball career after Texas and played throughout Europe and China. She also played for the USA National Team, playing in the USA Volleyball Cup, FIVB World Grand Prix, and the Pan American Cup. Most recently, Faucette has also signed with League One Volleyball and will continue her professional career in the United States.
She has also pursued a career as a recording artist, publishing her first EP in 2016, and launched a podcast, Behind the Athlete, in 2019 that spotlights high-level athletes and their passions outside of the sport they play.
A two-time Academic All-Big 12 selection, Faucette graduated from Texas in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in communication studies. Faucette is the mother of three children, a son Tre and twins Ruby and George.
