Outside hitter Dariam Acevedo pounded a career-high 25 kills, middle blocker Leticia Armstrong recorded her first-career double-double with 13 kills and a career-high 10 blocks and both Michelle Moriarty and Jen Christian also had double-doubles as the 16th-ranked Longhorns defeated the Wildcats in four games - 30-25, 24-30, 30-27, 30-21 - at Gregory Gym in front of 2,410 fans.

Paolini and Armstrong had back-to-back blocks on KSU's Sandy Werner to start the push. Kansas State twice pulled within one point, the last time at 26-25, but Texas tallied the game's final four points - including another block from Armstrong - to take the early one-game lead.
The second game followed the same early script as the two teams played through nine ties until 19-19 when Kansas State ran off three-straight points to go ahead for good at 22-19. Texas got within two points at 26-24 after an Acevedo kill and a KSU attack error, but the Wildcats scored the final four points to even the match at one game apiece.
UT fell behind in the third game, falling back by as many as five points - at 20-15 - before they rallied to tie the score at 24-24. After a pair of KSU errors, Texas went ahead for good before pulling out a 4-1 run down the stretch, capped by a Moriarty ace, to take the game and move ahead 2-1 in the match.
The Longhorns took control of the fourth game early, moving out to a 15-9 advantage. The Wildcats got as close as four points - at 18-14 - before Texas outscored their visitors 12-7 to close out the game, including four-straight kills to end the match.
