Career
• Helped lead Texas to the 1979 and 1981 Southwest Conference Championships as well as a third-place finish at the College World Series (CWS) in 1981.
• Headed the squad's pitching staff with 17 victories, a 2.84 ERA and 72 strikeouts during his final season on the Forty Acres in 1981.
• Pitched two complete games during the 1981 NCAA Central Regional in Austin en route to picking up wins against BYU (11-4 victory on May 22) and Stanford (10-2 victory on May 26). Notably, the win against the Cardinal clinched the regional title for UT and earned the Longhorns their 20th trip to the CWS.
• Made two starts, while appearing in a total of three games, for Texas during the 1981 College World Series.
Signed a professional contract with the Baltimore Orioles following his junior year as he was drafted in the 10th round of the MLB First-Year Player Draft.
• Appeared in 38 Major League games for the Orioles during the 1986 and 1987 seasons.
