1. How did you first get involved with baseball?
"My parents put me in all kinds of sports when I was a kid, such as karate, wrestling and soccer, but baseball is the one that stuck. It was the game that came easiest to me and had everything I loved."
2. What was the biggest transition for you coming from a junior college?
"When transferring from a junior college to a school like Texas, you realize that all of the players are just as good as, if not better, than you, so you have to step up your game. In this environment, the composition is much tougher."
3. What is your favorite thing about Austin so far?
"I like how Town Lake runs through the middle of the city, which has inspired my new interest in tubing. I also think downtown is a cool place and I love the great the people, food and music I have encountered thus far."
4. What are some of your goals for your first season here at UT?
"I definitely want to continue to play and hit as well as I have, which I hope will contribute to the team winning the Big 12 Conference title and then the College World Series. I just want to take it all in and not look back."
5. What do you miss most about your hometown?
"What I miss the most from my hometown of Aurora, Colo., is of course my family and the view of the snow capped mountains in the west."
6. Is there any significance to the number 15 you wear?
"To tell you the truth, I wore 16 all through high school and junior college, but when I got to Texas, Coach (Augie) Garrido kind of spoiled that for me. Still, I knew not to ask the man to step down, so I took the next best thing."
7. How did you feel after playing your first game at UT?
"I felt like a real part of the team and part of the great tradition here at Texas. From singing the "Eyes of Texas" before and after the game, I could just feel all that is behind it and how much it all means to everyone here, which was amazing to me."
8. Day game or night game?
"I prefer night games because you wait all day and the anticipation builds.
Then when game time finally comes, the crowd is right, the lights are on you and its time to play. That felling is what makes the game of baseball fun."
9. How do you want people to remember you when you leave UT?
"I want them to remember me as a guy who always played hard, made the effort to put his best foot forward every time and played the game the way it is supposed to be played. I want them to consider me a good teammate and overall guy that not only respected people but was respected in return."
10. How often do your parents have the opportunity to come see you play?
"The first time they have seen me play since coming to Texas was during the Stanford series. Since they still live in Colorado, it makes it to hard for them to make all of the games, but I know they will come when they are able."
11. If you could elect anyone in the world as president, who would it be?
"Colin Powell because I think he has his head on straight. He had to work his way up to his position, which has allowed him to be better in touch with the wants and needs of the American people."
12. What is your dream job outside of playing baseball?
"I want to be an entrepreneur because I would love to own my own business.
Maybe a car customization shop that had anything from wheels to systems to paint jobs to ground effects. Anything I could call mine would be a dream for me."
13. What is on the walls of your room?
"On one wall, I have a Salvador Dali painting called 'Elephants Reflecting Swans.' On another, I have a Michael Jordan picture with him showing all his rings and pointing his finger to his head. To me, he is saying think about what you can do when you put your mind to it. I also have two charcoal paintings of Bob Marley and Muhammad Ali."
14. If you could have any three people over for dinner, who would they be?
"First, I would chose to invite my grandfather since I never had a chance to meet him. Secondly, my dad's brother who died when I was very young, and finally, Tupac Shakur in order to see what his mind was all about."
15. Do you have any phobias?
"I really don't like spiders, and I used to not have a problem with snakes, but now I just don't trust them. The older I got, the more I thought they just looked like they were created by the devil."
16. What are your pet peeves?
"I don't like messy people, people who are fake or materialistic, or people who don't appreciate what is given to them or where they come from."
17. What is one of your biggest interests?
"I love listening to music anything from rap to country to reggae. If it sounds good, I'll listen to it."
18. If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would you choose to eat?
"It would have to be soul food."
19. Where do you want to be in 10 years from now?
"In 10 years from now, I will be 30 and would want to make sure I was financially stable with a wife and two to four kids preferably boys, maybe one girl, but I don't know if I can handle a girl. I also hope to look back and not regret anything."
20. What is the first thing you do when you visit home?
"Of course, I give my mom a hug and a kiss and hang out with my family. Then I take my dog for a walk to spend time with her since I had to leave her at home to replace one of my parents' dogs that died after my first semester at Texas."
