Diaz Barriga, Schellenberg move on to qualifying round at ITA All-American Championships

TULSA, Okla. -- University of Texas junior Luis Diaz Barriga (Cordoba, Mexico) and freshman Rook Schellenberg (Dallas, Texas) each won their final pre-qualifying round matches to advance to the qualifying round Sunday at the Polo Ralph Lauren ITA All-American Championships.
Diaz Barriga dispatched Lamar's Filip Kanczula by a 6-2, 6-4 count to set up a qualifying-round match against California's Daniel Sebescen on Monday. Schellenberg needed three sets but was victorious against Wichita State's Boris Gubic, winning 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. Schellenberg will face UCLA's Michael Look on Monday.
Junior Milan Mihailovic (Nis, Serbia), sophomore Miguel Reyes Varela (Cuernavaca, Mexico) and freshman Dimitar Kutrovsky (Sofia, Bulgaria) will also begin qualifying-round play on Monday. Kutrovsky and Mihailovic will take on Ohio State's Justin Kronauge and Steven Moneke in the doubles draw.
