Wood pitches gem as Baseball sweeps Oklahoma State, 7-0

STILLWATER, Okla. -- No. 5 Texas became the first team to ever post a three-game sweep of No. 12 Oklahoma State at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium as the Longhorns posted a 7-0 win over the Cowboys in Big 12 Conference baseball action Sunday afternoon.
The victory marked the first time since Reynolds Stadium was built in 1981 that Oklahoma State suffered three consecutive losses on its home field.
Austin Wood (6-1) held Oklahoma State's high-octane offense scoreless for six innings. He scattered three hits and two walks while striking out three to earn the win. Joseph Krebs and Randy Boone combined on three scoreless innings to complete the first shutout of the Cowboys in 2007. Krebs and Boone combined on nine innings of scoreless relief on the weekend.
Texas (37-12, 17-4) drew first blood with three unearned runs in the top of the third inning. With one out, Chais Fuller trickled an infield hit down the third-base line. Travis Tucker followed with a single through the left side of the infield and Nick Peoples reached on an error to load the bases. Kyle Russell broke the scoring seal with a sacrifice fly to centerfield, plating Fuller. A stolen base by Peoples and a walk Chance Wheeless reloaded the bases allowing Bradley Suttle to drive in a run with a walk. The final run of the frame scored on balk, staking the Longhorns to a 3-0 lead.
The Longhorns added an insurance run in the top of the sixth inning. Suttle was hit by a pitch to lead off the frame. With one out, Russell Moldenhauer drew a walk and Jordan Danks reached on an error by OSU's second baseman to load the bases. Fuller hit a sacrifice fly to rightfield, driving in Suttle, inflating the cushion to 4-0.
Suttle and Preston Clark hit RBI singles in a three-run seventh inning, ballooning the lead to 7-0.
Fuller led UT's offensive attack, going 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Suttle went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Texas returns to action next weekend with the Longhorns hosting Missouri in a three-game series beginning Friday at 6:05 p.m. CT.
