Men's Tennis signee Damico reaches French Open semifinals

PARIS -- University of Texas men's tennis signee Kellen Damico added a pair of victories Thursday to reach the boys' singles and doubles semifinals in the 2007 French Open at Roland Garros.
Damico (Parker, Colo.), the tournament's 10th seed, made short work of fourth-seeded Brazilian Fernando Romboli, winning by a 6-2, 6-3 count in the boys' singles quarterfinals. Damico will meet 12th-seeded Vladimir Ignatic of Belarus in the semifinals.
Damico teamed with Frenchman Jonathan Eysseric for a 7-6 (2), 6-0 victory over Russia's Vladimir Karusevich and Evgeny Donskoy in the doubles quarterfinals. Damico and Eysseric will meet Andrej Martin of the Slovak Republic and Aljaz Bedene of Slovenia in the semifinals.
Damico, a 2006 Wimbledon boys' doubles champion, has won all eight of his singles sets at the 2007 French Open while defeating two Top-10 seeds.
