Volleyball recruiting class tabbed No. 2 by Volleyball Magazine

AUSTIN, Texas -- The Texas Volleyball team's five player recruiting class highlighted by the second-ranked national recruit Juliann Faucette and third-ranked recruit Jennifer Doris has been ranked the No. 2 recruiting class by Volleyball Magazine. The Longhorns claimed the second spot for the second time this year, also claiming the earning a No. 2 ranking in PrepVolleyball.com's poll. Texas' recruiting class marks the second straight season the Longhorns have captured the second-ranked class and the third time in the last five years.
Faucette, a 6-2 outside hitter from San Diego, Calif., and Doris, a 6-5 utility player from Houston, Texas, are joined by 6-2 utility player Elizabeth Graham (Cedar Park, Texas), 5-9 defensive specialist Chelsey Klein (San Diego, Calif.) and 5-9 defensive specialist Alexandra Lewis (Austin, Texas).
Faucette attended Westview High School in San Diego and played her travel ball for Epic volleyball club. She was a four-year starter for Westview and along with Doris, competed for the USA National Team at the Azteca Cup in September 2006.
Doris played exclusively for the Willowbrook travel team out of Houston and attended Cypress Falls High School. She is a versatile utility player who touches 10' 7" and has played internationally for the USA National (2006, Azteca Cup), USA Junior National (2006-07) and USA Youth National teams (2005).
In August 2006, Faucette and Doris helped the USA Women's Junior National Team win a gold medal at the NORCECA Continental Women's Junior Championships in Mexico.
Graham, the Austin American Statesman Central Texas Player of the Year, attended Vista Ridge High School and led her squad to a Class 4A State Runner-up finish in 2006. A talented blocker, Graham was named All-State in 2006 and garnered District 26 MVP honors her senior year and District 25 MVP accolades in 2005.
Klein and Lewis will add depth to an already talented back row that boasts senior Alyson Jennings, junior Kiley Hall and sophomore Heather Kisner. Klein, who enrolled at UT in January 2007, came to Texas after playing high school and club volleyball with Faucette in San Diego. Lewis, a homegrown product comes to Texas after playing at Bowie High School and Austin Juniors Volleyball club.
