AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Volleyball will compete in the second annual Sprouts Farmers Market Broadway Block Party on Sunday, Sept. 6 against Louisville at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn.
The event will feature four elite programs from the SEC, ACC and Big Ten in a doubleheader. The Longhorns and Cardinals will open the event on ABC, with first serve set for 11 a.m. PT. Tennessee and Indiana will meet in the second match of the doubleheader at 2 p.m. PT on ESPN2.
Texas and Louisville will meet for the seventh time, with the Longhorns holding a 5-1 series advantage. The teams last met at the Shriners Children's Showdown at the Net last September, when Texas rallied for a five-set victory behind a 20-kill, 18-dig performance from Torrey Stafford. Prior to that, the programs met in the 2022 NCAA Championship match, where Texas captured the first of its back-to-back titles, sweeping Louisville 3-0 to earn their fourth national championship and first since 2012.
Last season, Texas advanced to the NCAA Regional Final for the 18th time in 20 seasons. The Longhorns finished 26-4 overall, including 12 wins against ranked opponents, highlighted by a starting stretch of 18 consecutive victories.
Last year's inaugural Broadway Block Party drew 11,200 fans to Bridgestone Arena for the venue's first women's collegiate volleyball event. Tickets go on sale to the public on March 6 at NashvilleSports.com/Broadway-Block-Party.
