UT Tower lighting scheduled for tonight

AUSTIN, Texas -- The UT Tower will be lit in burnt orange this evening in anticipation of the second-ranked Texas men's swimming and diving team's victory at the Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championships at UT's Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.
Per UT tradition, the campus landmark is bathed in burnt orange lighting from top to bottom when any University of Texas athletics team secures a conference championship. Under the direction of 30th-year head coach Eddie Reese, Texas has won 28 consecutive conference championships and very likely will pick up its 29th this evening.
Having secured 20 berths in this evening's finals, Texas leads second-place Missouri, 768-526. The Longhorns set a new meet record at the 2007 Big 12 Championship with 1,114 points and will be within striking distance of that figure at meet's end.
