Troy Dumais takes three-meter at U.S. Olympic Diving Trials

INDIANAPOLIS -- Former University of Texas diver Troy Dumais nailed down a nomination to the U.S. Olympic Team by finishing off a wire-to-wire victory in the three-meter springboard event Saturday at the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials-Diving.
Dumais (Ventura, Calif.) all but secured a spot on the U.S. Olympic Team by capturing the three-meter event with a score of 1,552.90 points, outdistancing former Georgia diver Chris Colwill, who took second at 1,465.10. UT rising senior diver Jonathan Wilcox took ninth at 1,182.55.
Dumais receives a nomination to the U.S. Olympic Team, but his selection to the team will not become official until the conclusion of the U.S. Olympic Team Selection Camp set for July 2-6 in Knoxville, Tenn.
Dumais placed sixth on the three meter at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece, and the 2000 Summer OIympics in Sydney, Australia.
