Cooper, Drew Livingston earn berths at U.S. Olympic Diving Selection Camp

INDIANAPOLIS -- University of Texas rising sophomore diver Matt Cooper and incoming freshman Drew Livingston (The Woodlands, Texas) landed top-six finishes in the platform diving event to secure berths at next month's U.S. Olympic Diving Selection Camp in Knoxville, Tenn.
Cooper (Bethesda, Md.), a 2008 NCAA platform All-American for the Longhorns, narrowly landed the sixth and final berth available for the selection camp by placing sixth at 1246.70, edging Auburn's Daniel Mazzaferro, who placed seventh at 1246.30. Livingston (The Woodlands, Texas) took third at 1,443.15 and will join his older sister, Jessica, UT's 2007 NCAA platform diving champion, at the selection camp.
David Boudia captured the platform event with 1,642.20 points to earn one of the two platform diving spots available on the U.S. Olympic Team. One more spot will be up for grabs at the selection camp scheduled for July 2-6 at The University of Tennessee.
