Dumais takes sixth on three-meter at Beijing Olympics

BEIJING -- Texas-Ex Troy Dumais wrapped up his third Olympiad Tuesday evening with a sixth-place finish in the men's three-meter springboard diving event at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Dumais took 10th in the semifinals with 463.15 to land one of the 12 finals spots available before taking sixth in the finals with 472.50 points. China's He Chong took the gold at 572.90 while Canada's Alexandre Despatie won the silver at 536.65. China's Qin Kai won the bronze at 530.10.
Dumais scored particularly high marks on his third dive, a forward, two-and-a-half somersault with two twists in the pike position that garnered 91.80 points.
Dumais also placed sixth on the three-meter springboard at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and the 2004 Athens Olympics.
