TEAM NOTES
- Texas is 2-1 against Ohio State all-time with all three games coming in the last four seasons.
- Texas and Utah are the only teams nationally that have won bowl games in five consecutive seasons. Texas has won bowl games in five consecutive seasons for the first time in school history. The Horns did win five straight (1963-64, '66, '68-69), but the streak was interrupted by seasons that did not result in a bowl game.
- Texas' senior class tied the school record for victories at 45 (45-7, .865), matching the 2005 class, and became the second consecutive senior class to win four consecutive bowl games.
- Texas has posted at least 400 yards of total offense in 71 of its last 103 games.

- With Brian Orakpo (11.5) and Sergio Kindle (10), Texas has two players with at least 10 sacks for the first time since 1985 when Ty Allert (10.5) and Chris Duliban (10) accomplished the feat.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES
Quan Cosby
- Cosby caught a pass in 44 consecutive games to finish his career, a streak that ranks fourth nationally and second on UT's all-time list.
- Cosby caught at least three passes in 27 of his last 31 games.
- Cosby's 14 receptions rank second on UT's single-game list and first on UT's bowl-game list.
- With 14 receptions, Cosby finished the season with 92 catches (No. 2 on UT's single-season list), giving him 212 receptions for his career (No. 2 on UT's all-time list).
- Cosby's 171 receiving yards rank 14th on UT's single-game list and second in bowl games. It marked just the eighth time that a Texas receiver posted at least 100 yards in a bowl game.
- With 171 receiving yards, Cosby finished the season with 1,123 yards (No. 3 on UT's single-season list), giving him 2,598 yards for his career (No. 3 on UT's all-time list).
- Cosby's two TD receptions tied for UT's bowl-game record.
- Cosby's two TD receptions gave him 10 for the season (T-No.4 on UT's single-season list) and 19 for his career (No. 4 on UT's all-time list).
- Cosby finished his career as only the second Longhorn to record at least 2,500 yards receiving and 1,500 kickoff return yards along with Mike Adams (3,032 rec/1,592 ko).
Sergio Kindle
- With a sack in the first quarter, Kindle has 10 for the season and 10.5 for his career.
Colt McCoy
- McCoy moved his career record as a starter to 32-7.
- McCoy has now won three bowl games and been named the Offensive MVP in each game.
- McCoy set the NCAA record for single-season completion percentage at 76.7%, smashing Daunte Culpepper's record of 73.6% set in 1998.
- At 70.2% for his career, McCoy is just 0.2% behind Colt Brennan's NCAA career mark of 70.4%.
- McCoy finished the season with a 173.8 passer rating, a UT single-season record.
- McCoy's 41 completions and 58 attempts were BCS and Texas records.
- McCoy's 332 completions are a UT single-season record and his 433 attempts rank second on UT's single-season list.
- McCoy's 414 passing yards rank second in BCS history and are the third-most in UT history.
- With 414 passing yards, McCoy improved his UT single-season record to 3,859 yards.
- McCoy's rushing TD to open the second half was the 100th TD of his career. The rushing TD was McCoy's 11th of the season and the 17th of his career.
- With two TD passes, McCoy improved his UT single-season record to 34 and his all-time record to 85.
- McCoy accounted for a school-record 45 TDs in 2008 and his career total of 102 TDs also is a UT record.
- McCoy rushed and passed for a TD in the same game eight times in 2008 and 12 times during his career.
- McCoy has thrown for at least 200 yards in 29 career games, which is tied for first on UT's all-time list with Major Applehwite.
- McCoy threw for at least 200 yards in 12 games in 2008, eclipsing the record of 11 set by Major Applewhite in 1999 and equaled by McCoy in 2007.
- McCoy has thrown at least two TD passes in 27 of his 39 career games.
- McCoy extended his streak to 17 consecutive games with a TD pass, which ranks second on UT's all-time list behind Major Applewhite's 19.
- McCoy's 399 yards of total offense rank ninth on UT's single-game list.
- McCoy set a UT single-season record with 4,420 total yards in 2008, improving his career total to a school-record 10,955 yards.
Roy Miller
- Miller was named Defensive MVP after posting three tackles and a sack.
- Miller's sack at the end of the third quarter gave him 5.5 for the season and 10 for his career.
Brian Orakpo
- Orakpo's sack on the second-to-last play of the game gave him 11.5 for 2008 and 22 for his career.
- The 11.5 sacks are tied for 10th on UT's single-season list and are the most in a single season since Kiki DeAyala recorded a school-record 22.5 in 1982.
- The 22 career sacks are tied for 10th on UT's all-time list.
Jordan Shipley
- With 10 receptions, Shipley finished the season with 89 catches (No. 3 on UT's single-season list) and improved his career total to 132 receptions (No. 6 on UT's all-time list).
- Shipley posted at least 10 receptions for the third time in 2008.
- With 78 yards, Shipley tallied 1,060 yards (No. 6 on UT's single-season list) in 2008 and improved his career total to 1,706 yards (No. 8 on UT's all-time list).
- Shipley tallied at least 75 receiving yards eight times in 2008.
