Volleyball to embark on European tour

AUSTIN, Texas -- On Wednesday, May 20 the Texas Volleyball team will embark on a 12-day tour of Europe. The Longhorns will travel through Austria, Slovenia, Croatia and Italy while playing teams from all four countries and training for several days.
The team will arrive in Vienna, Austria on Thursday, May 21 and work off their travel legs with some sightseeing before departing the next day for Maribor, Slovenia where the team will practice with the Croatian Junior National Team. The following day the Horns will take on the Croats before squaring off with the Slovenian National Team the next night.
After its matches in Maribor, Texas will travel to Kastela, Croatia where it will play an afternoon match with OK Rejika of Rejika, Croatia. Following the match, the Longhorns will have a couple of days of sightseeing in Kastela and two possible matches.
When Texas leaves Kastela they will take an evening ferry to Ancona, Italy where they will have a day of sightseeing in Ancona and Falconara, Italy. The next day, Friday, May 29, the Longhorns will take on Team Falconara in an evening match. The following morning, UT will travel to Rome for three days of sightseeing and matches with the Italian Junior National Team.
After its three-day stay in the Italian capital, Texas will depart Rome for the United States on Tuesday, June 2.
