Texas-Ex Troy Dumais wins silver in three-meter synchro at FINA World Championships

ROME -- Texas-Ex Troy Dumais won the silver medal in the men's three-meter synchronized diving event Saturday at the 2009 FINA World Championships and collected his fourth career medal at a world championship event.
Dumais (Ventura, Calif.) and American teammate Kristian Ipsen took second in the 12-team finals with 445.59 points. China's Qin Kai and Wang Feng, the gold medalists in the event at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, won the gold with 467.94 points. Canada's Alexandre Despatie and Reuben Ross won the bronze with 428.64 points.
Dumais claimed his third career silver medal at the FINA World Championships. He won silver in the one-meter event at the 1998 FINA World Championships in Perth, Australia and took silver in the three-meter event at the 2005 FINA World Championships in Montreal, Quebec.
Dumais will compete in the men's individual three-meter event beginning Wednesday, July 22 in Rome.
