ISU PRE-NATIONALS POST-RACE QUOTES
Head coach Steve Sisson
On how the team performed: I think today was a day that indicated our current fitness and we were hoping to be in a position to be competitive in a competitive field and I'm really proud of the team. The race showed the shape that they're in and we're really looking forward to the later season training where we can work on getting faster and quicker. Our strength is where it needs to be and we'll spend some time getting our speed up as the season continues on.
On how the freshmen performed: I think it is a testament to this group that two freshmen in a sense are leading the team. The good thing is that they stood the test of this competitive meet and they were able to come out and perform well. I'm really proud of Megan [Siebert] and Marielle [Hall], they both raced to the level that their training has gotten them to. It's very good to have two freshmen in the top 40 at this meet and I don't think that's something that happens very often.
