POST-ROUND QUOTES
Head Coach Martha Richards
On the team's overall performance: We looked like a team that started its first day of the golf season today. We got off to a rough start with too many big numbers on our first few holes. We started out on holes five, six, seven, eight and nine, which I have always thought were a few of the hardest holes on this course. It took us a few holes to settle in, but once we did, everyone played most of the back nine very well. We looked a little shell-shocked for a few holes, but everyone competed hard all day, and I was really please with how everyone settled.
On tomorrow's final round: We have to get off to a better start tomorrow. We're within striking distance and only eight shots off of second place. As young as we are, I was impressed with how well everyone played their last 13 or 14 holes much better than they played their first four or five holes. If we can carry that momentum over to tomorrow, then I think we'll be more settled into the 'tournament mode' that we exited on in the fall season.
