Hardee takes second in heptathlon at World Indoor Championships

Texas Ex Trey Hardee scored 6,184 points to finish second in the heptathlon at the World Indoor Championships in Doha, Qatar. Hardee, the reigning World Champion in the decathlon, finished just 20 points behind winner and fellow American Bryan Clay.
After wrapping up the first day with 3,450 points and a fifth-place standing, Hardee opened day two by winning the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 7.79. The 1,035 points he earned moved him into second.
Hardee then matched the top clearance of the day in the pole vault, 16-4.75 (5.00m), to score 910 points. He finished by adding 789 points in the 1,000 meters with a personal-best time of 2:47.76.
