AUSTIN, Texas -- Chance Ruffin and Taylor Jungmann were named to the Baseball America 2010 College All-America team the publication announced on Wednesday.
Ruffin was named a first-team relief pitcher and Jungmann earned second-team starting pitcher recognition.
Ruffin, who earned third-team honors from Baseball America as a starting pitcher in 2008, went 6-1 with 14 saves and a 1.11 ERA. He led the nation in ERA and strikeouts per nine innings (13.50). The right-hander allowed just 42 hits and 19 walks while striking out 97 over 64.2 innings. Ruffin had six saves of two or more innings and during the season ran up scoreless inning streaks of 22.1 and 21.1 innings. He owned an 0.87 earned run average in the ninth inning of games.
Jungmann finished the year with an 8-3 record and 2.03 ERA. He led the team with 129 strikeouts and yielded 88 hits and 41 walks in 120.0 innings. The right-hander held opponents to a .209 batting average. Four of Jungmann's starts went extra innings and he was not credited with a decision despite the Longhorns winning all four contests.
The Longhorns have had at least one All-America named by Baseball America in eight of the last nine seasons.
The Longhorns ended the season with a 50-13 record and won their 76th conference title with a 24-3 mark in Big 12 play.
