JACKSON, Mich. -- Firing a 4-under 68, Texas Ex Cindy Figg-Currier (1978-82) captured her second Legends Tour trophy at the Wendy's Charity Challenge on Sunday, Aug. 8. She previously captured the same crown in 2008.
Figg-Currier began her round with a chip-in for birdie on the fifth hole and additional birdies on seven and hine. After a quick replacement of a long-favored putter that broke on the 12th hole, Figg-Currier went 1-under over the final six holes to become the first two-time winner of the four-year event. Elaine Crosby finished one stroke back at 3-under 69 to finish in second place.
The Legends Tour is the offical senior tour of the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA).
Earlier this summer, Figg-Currier won the Texas Women's Open at Eastern Hills Country Club in Garland, Texas.
Figg-Currier competed on the LPGA for 22 years (1984-2006) while winning the 1997 State Farm Rail Classic and earning more than $1.9 million in LPGA Official Money.
