Pressel leads Women's Golf at Stanford Intercollegiate

Stanford, Calif. -- Junior Madison Pressel (70-67-71) led the Texas Women's Golf team with a tie for sixth place at the Stanford Intercollegiate after carding a final-round 71 Sunday afternoon. The reigning Big 12 Golfer of the Year and Big 12 Champion notched three-consecutive par-or-better rounds at the Stanford Golf Course for a 54-hole score of 5-under 208.
After a bogey-bogey start, Pressel rebounded with her first birdie on the 12th hole. A subsequent bogey on 16 ensued before she found two more birdie opportunities on nos. four and seven, her 13th and 16th holes. Pressel had at least three birdies in each round, including five in her season-low round of 67 (-4) on Saturday.
Senior Nicole Vandermade (68-73-75) finished tied for 30th place at 3-over 216. Junior Desiree Dubreuil (75-74-73) tied for 57th while junior Haley Stephens (74-76-78) tied for 72nd place. Freshman Bertine Strauss (76-0-79) finished 88th after withdrawing from Saturday's second round due to illness.
Junior Katelyn Sepmoree (72-76-75=223, +10) tied for 61st place while competing as an individual for the Longhorns.
UCLA (277-279-286) held on for a wire-to-wire win at 10-under 842. Vanderbilt (281-279-285=845) and Washington (277-287-283) finished second and third, respectively, in the 16-team field. Texas (287-290-297) tied for 10th place with host Stanford (282-300-292) at 874 (+22).
