TEAM NOTES
- Missouri ended Texas' six-game winning streak in the series and now trails the all-time series, 17-6. The Longhorns had won 15 of the previous 16 meetings.
- Texas did not allow a single point in the first quarter, marking the fourth time this season opponents have failed to score points in the opening period against the Longhorns.
- UT did not score a touchdown for the first time since 2004 when they were shut out by Oklahoma, 12-0. The five points were also the lowest since that game.
- The Longhorns have not allowed a touchdown on the opening possession this season. Emmanuel Acho forced a fumble on Missouri's first possession. Of the nine games this year, the Longhorns have forced turnovers against UCLA (INT) and Missouri while also forcing four punts and allowing three field goals.
- With a 27-yard field goal, UT has scored on its opening possession in three straight games after not recording points on the opening drive in any of the first six games this year.
- The Longhorns held Missouri to 152 rushing yards. The Tigers ranked 12th in the nation entering the game with 244.89 yards per game. Henry Josey, the leading rusher in the Big 12 at 127.67 yards per game, managed just 19 yards on 11 carries before leaving with an injury.
- Missouri was held over 150 yards below its season average of 500.0 yards per game as the Longhorns limited them to 338 yards.
- The Texas defense had a goal line stand in the third quarter following a blocked punt to force a field goal. The drive started at the UT one-yard line but Missouri was held to negative one yard on three rush attempts. Senior linebacker Emmanuel Acho was in on the tackle on all three plays.
- Texas recorded its second blocked punt of the season in the third quarter when Leroy Scott blocked one out of the back of the end zone for a safety. Earlier this year Mykkele Thompson blocked a punt that was returned 34 yards for a touchdown by Josh Turner.
- The safety was the third of the year for the Longhorns with one in three of the last four games. Texas also had safeties against Oklahoma State and Kansas in back-to-back contests. The last time Texas had three safeties in one season was 2001.
- The Longhorns had 16 tackles for loss in the game, marking the third straight game they have posted 10 or more tackles behind the line of scrimmage. It is the fourth game this year with double digit TFLs.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES
Emmanuel Acho
- Acho finished with 12 tackles for his seventh game this season with 10 or more stops.
- The senior linebacker had five tackles for loss in the game to give him a team-high 15 on the season. He has three career games with at least five tackles for loss including Oklahoma earlier this season (6) and Oklahoma last year (5).
- He caused a fumble on Missouri's opening possession for his first caused fumble of the year and seventh of his career.
Marquise Goodwin
- Goodwin caught three passes for 57 yards, including a 45-yard reception to convert a third down. The 45-yard grab was the longest of Goodwin's career. His previous long was 39 yards in 2009 against Alabama. His previous long this season was 37 yards last weekend against Texas Tech.
Jordan Hicks
- Hicks recovered a first quarter fumble to give him his first career fumble recovery.
Jackson Jeffcoat
- Jeffcoat continued his tear with his fourth sack in the last three games. He now has 6.5 career sacks. He has seven tackles for loss in the last three contests.
- He recorded 10 tackles for the second straight game, matching a career high.
Alex Okafor
- Okafor has recorded a sack in four straight games and five of the last six after his sack in the fourth quarter. He has a team-high six sacks on the year.
- He tied a career high with eight tackles, including two tackles for loss. He also had eight stops against Iowa State earlier this year.
Miles Onyegbule
- True freshman wide receiver Miles Onyegbule recorded his first career reception in the second quarter for a gain of 20 yards.
Leroy Scott
- True freshman Leroy Scott blocked a punt out of the back of the end zone for a safety. It was Texas' second blocked punt of the season and third safety of the year.
Justin Tucker
- Tucker had his streak of seven consecutive made field goals snapped on a 53-yard try. He is now 12-of-14 (.857) on the season and 35-of-41 (.854) for his career.
- He had a season-long 64-yard punt in the game and placed four of his nine punts inside the 20-yard line.
