Men's Swimming & Diving Splits Double Dual

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The University of Texas Men's Swimming & Diving team came away with a split in two dual matches on Saturday at the Canham Natatorium in Ann Arbor, Mich.
The Longhorns captured a 217.5-82.5 victory over Indiana and fell one point shy of Michigan, 150.5-149.5.
Texas started off strong with a win in the 200-yard medley relay. Cole Gragin, Eric Friedland, Neil Caskey and Jimmy Feigen combined for a time of 1:29.05.
It wasn't until midway through that the next first-place finish came when Feigen was the only swimmer to clock under 20 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle (19.79). Two events after that Feigen won again, this time in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 43.61.
Matthew Cooper came away with a first place in the 3-meter diving event with a score of 415.40. The second best score in the competition was 348.45 by Mick Dell'Orco of Indiana.
Kip Darmody was victorious in the 200-yard backstroke, swimming a 1:45.92. He was followed by Friedland taking first place in the 200-yard breaststroke (1:59.69).
The Longhorns closed out the meet in similar fashion as they led off the day. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Feigen, Caskey, Kerrington Hill and Dax Hill sped to a time of 1:20.08 to finish ahead of the competition.
Next Saturday Texas will make the trip to Dallas to square off with SMU in a dual meet.
