BATON ROUGE, La. - The No. 12 Texas Softball team posted its sixth-straight shutout victory and sophomore All-America hurler Blaire Luna fired her fourth-consecutive complete-game shutout as UT downed Hofstra, 4-0. The victory improved the Longhorns to 16-2 on the year and 2-0 at the LSU Purple and Gold Challenge, while Hofstra fell to 6-5.

Sophomore leftfielder Torie Schmidt drew a one-out walk to keep things going. She stole second and came around to score on Thom's RBI single down the rightfield line.
The Horns added three insurance runs in the sixth, using a single by Schmidt and a walk by senior second baseman Raygan Feight to set the table. Thom followed with a three-run homer down the leftfield line that extended the UT advantage to 5-0.
