Head coach Mack Brown
Opening statement: I want to congratulate Oklahoma. We had some guys play well, but we didn't play well as a team. I thought they out-coached us. I thought they out-hit us and they were more physical than we were. I thought we made some better plays today on defense than we have in the past, even though we gave up a 95-yard run and a deep pass or two. We did seem to tackle better a few times, and I thought the defense played better the second half. It's just unacceptable for Texas to lose like that to Oklahoma, much less anybody, especially two years in a row. I'm disappointed for our coaches, fans and players. That's not who we are.
On the reason for the loss: I don't know. It is what it is. They just hit us. I don't know how to define it to one word. We've been running and moving the ball against different people. This was the best defense we've played. They outplayed us today. I'm very disappointed offensively.
On if he thinks there are solutions: I think we'll be OK on defense. We have to go home, and we have a great Baylor team coming in that's number one on offense. We have to make sure the stats go down.
On the new things OU's offense showed: Nothing. When you get a zone play for 95 yards, that's not new.
On Oklahoma's defense: I thought their plays on offense were credit to them and their plays on defense were credit to them. We tried to run the ball some, and we just couldn't do it, so that's credit to them. If you can't stop the run and you can't protect, it's hard to get much done on offense.
On if he thought the game was lost at the half: I really didn't. I asked the guys at halftime. I thought we stayed on the field so much that some of the guys got tired, so we had to substitute quite a bit. They had 400 yards on offense the first half, we had 65. On offense, we weren't out there long enough to quit.
On OU's run game: Again, I think all the credit goes to them. You go back to their Kansas State game - you don't fumble it and give Kansas State a touchdown, that's a 14-point swing. I think Oklahoma's as good as anybody in the league.
On if the team has regressed: I don't think you can tell week to week. It's sure not pretty today. It's unacceptable. That's the way I feel, that's the way the players feel and how the coaches feel. It's not a proud moment for us. We just have to make sure that we don't forget this, learn from it, move forward and try to win next week. We can't sit around and feel sorry for ourselves. We're sitting in the same spot we were this time last year, so we have to go finish better than we did last year.
Defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Manny Diaz
On where team's confidence stands before next week's game: We're going to leave with not a lot of sympathy from the offense we have to play against. What you have to do though, is that there will be guys that will play pretty well and there will be guys that will not play very well. So the confidence of the defense can be a multi-tiered thing. What I did see today was some leadership starting to develop in the adverse situation. We really challenged some guys at half time, and maybe we are finally starting today to start to see how we are going to grow up and how that is going to affect us in the future. We weren't enough today. We didn't have enough today. There were some shots today that could've been the thing that gets us going in the future.
On the defense: We're getting out-hit. But part of when you're getting out hit is if you don't play fast and confident, and when you wait, you ending up catching blocks instead of attacking blocks. We have footage on tape from the last 18 months where we can do those types of things. What we are doing right now is we are not doing that, and that is what I have to coach. [I have] to get the defense to play faster versus the run.
Co-offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Bryan Harsin
On RB/WR Daje Johnson: We didn't have a lot of plays in the first half there. Daje was in there with opportunities to get the ball in his hands, but again, based off the defense and the way they played, we weren't able to get to him early. We came out in the second half, made some adjustments to where we could get him the ball and he made things happen. He is a guy for us that we have to find ways to make sure the ball is going to him. Back in the backfield, I think, is one of the keys.
On the scheme in the first half: We did it a little bit different. Some of the things they posed gave us some things schematically that we had to change the way we were doing it. They did a nice job, and were prepared for what we had been doing. So we had to find some other ways of doing it. And we did that with Daje Johnson and [RB/WR] D.J. Monroe had some opportunities in the second as well. Again, when we are in the red zone we put the ball in their hands, but we just didn't get down there.

DE Alex Okafor

On the game:
 We just couldn't stop the run. When you can't stop the run, things get ugly real quick, and it's been like that all season. We just have to find a way to stop it."
On how they will prepare for Baylor next weekend: 
We just have to go back to the film, crack down on mistakes and see what we did wrong. I mean, in the second half, we had a couple of stops and that's always positive so you know there's some good. But (it was) mostly bad, so we just have to pick up on that and learn.
S Kenny Vaccarro
On the game: 
If you can't stop the run, you open up the whole playbook for the offense. It's disappointing, but it is what it is. All I can do is play my heart out and lead my team and this is just how it ended.
On stopping the OU running game: 
When they are running the ball down your throat, honestly, everyone is trying to stop the run. So sometimes linebackers take their eyes away from their man and, like I said, if you can't stop the run and it opens up the playbook. We worked on it all week but that was it.
QB Case McCoy
On the loss: Well, you know, playing or not playing, I'm part of this team. I'm sick to my stomach because I can't stand to lose. Neither can anyone else on the team. And that's twice now we've been a part of all that. One thing that I can say though, is that we had a great halftime speech. We decided that no matter what the score was, we always knew throughout your career, no matter what the score is, you're going to fight to the end. You always hear that from coaches in peewee, middle school, high school, to here. And finally I saw it first hand. We had a chance. So we had a chance to go out there, and we didn't lay down. And I know I can say that, because I sat there after the game [and] you know I just said, "If you can lay your head down tonight, and question yourself, and count yourself, and say did I leave it all out there? Did I lay down, or at the end of the game was I still fighting?" And I think that not only goes for football, that goes for being a man. In your life. In your family. In everything that you do. If you put it on the line, every time, that's what counts in the long run. I think a lot of people grew up tonight. And hopefully we can take something into next week. Get something positive from this. And go on and play another big game next week.
On the team's leadership: There are a lot of leaders on this team. I include myself as well. We'll move on from there. The bottom line is we played our hearts out. Nothing went our way tonight. We really didn't play very good ball. One thing we did is play with our hearts. It's an emotional game. We've got to find something positive.
WR Jaxon Shipley
On the loss: It's very disappointing. We're all feeling really sick right now. Just really down. But there are two ways you can go about this. You can let it beat you down for the next couple of weeks, or you can bounce back and come together as a team. And I think that's what we're going to do.
On continuing to play hard in the second half: Well, I mean we were fighting the whole game. There's a time at the end where, at the very end of the fourth quarter, and obviously you're not going to win, but we didn't show. We're tough, and we're not going to give up. And I think we did that. The last three drives that [QB] Case [McCoy] did were really good for us.
CB Quandre Diggs
On Oklahoma taking an early lead: We started slow. But no excuses. Those guys came and played. They were the better team today, and it just wasn't our day.
On where the team goes next: To Baylor. Where else can we go? You can't just hang up your season over one game. You've just got to continue to get better.
On the cause of Oklahoma's explosive plays: Missed tackles. That's something we've just got to continue to work on.
RB Johnathan Gray
On his disappointment: It was very disappointing. We worked hard all week, tried to come out here to beat them, and didn't get the job done.
On what happened tonight: We just couldn't execute some plays. [We] let them get away with the game, and we couldn't come back with it.
On Oklahoma's early lead making it tough to come back: Yes, it was tough to come back, but they told us in the locker room to just keep our heads up, fight hard, and fight through the game.
On the loss: We played under our standards and didn't play Texas football. We didn't play like we wanted to. We have to go back to the drawing board.
WR Mike Davis
On his thoughts about the first half: We started our tempo slow. Oklahoma did a great job, and we had our mistakes. They played really wel,l and we tried.
On the feeling at halftime: It could've been better because we have been in this situation before. We took it in a more mature way. We all knew what we had to do when we came out, and we played with pride. We came out to finish playing and fight until the end.
On moving forward: We have to work during practice [this week]. We still have a great team and a bright future. We got to keep playing hard and practicing hard to get better for next week.
