Statement from UT Women's Athletics Director Chris Plonsky regarding Kylie Doniak
"Kylie Doniak, a senior forward on our soccer team, was injured early Friday morning in a pedestrian-auto accident in downtown Austin. Kylie is in the ICU unit of University Medical Center Brackenridge. Her parents have arrived from their home in Chino Hills, California, and they are on site now. Per University policies, updates on her condition will be communicated by appropriate Athletics Department staff. We and the family appreciate the outreach and outpouring of support for Kylie. She is a beloved student-athlete, not just here but in the entire collegiate soccer community. We appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers on her behalf."
Doniak, still enrolled at the University of Texas, recently completed her career on the Forty Acres with a stellar four years. Doniak earned Academic All-Big 12 First Team honors on three consecutive occasions. She garnered All-Big 12 Second Team honors in 2010 and NSCAA All-Central Region Third Team honors in 2009. Doniak was named to the Soccer Buzz Magazine Freshman All-America Third Team and All-Freshman Central Region Team in 2008.
She finished the 2011 campaign as the teams leading scorer with 15 points on five goals and five assists despite missing four games due to a knee injury. She was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week on Aug. 29 during a week in which she scored three goals in a pair of wins over Georgia and Cal State Northridge.
Doniak ended her career ranked 10th on Texas' career list with 18 goals along with seventh in assists (18) and 11th in points (54).
