AUSTIN, Texas -- The incoming Texas Volleyball recruiting class has been rated No. 2 in the nation by Prep Volleyball. The class consists of five players: 5-3 libero Kat Brooks (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou HS), 6-2 outside hitter/setter Nicole Dalton (Parker, Colo./Chaparral HS), 6-4 middle blocker Sara Hattis (Rio Rancho, N.M./Cleveland HS), 6-3 middle blocker Molly McCage (Spring/Klein Collins HS) and 5-10 libero/outside hitter Amy Neal (Austin/Lake Travis HS).
Four of the incoming freshmen for head coach Jerritt Elliott are ranked by Prep Volleyball in the Top 20 nationally: McCage (No. 1), Dalton (No. 6), Hattis (No. 9) and Neal (No. 18).
Texas returns nine letter winners from last year's squad that finished with a 25-5 overall record and won the Big 12 championship while reaching the regional final in the NCAA Tournament.
The Longhorns will open the 2012 season at home with a tournament (August 24-25) in Gregory Gym against Cal Poly, LSU and San Diego.
