Senior Hannah Higgins and Cummins both fired three shots on goal for Texas.

POST MATCH QUOTES
Senior Kristin Cummins
On the team overall: I have never been on a team where, for example, no matter how tired we are during fitness, we are going to have someone there to push us to the line. I think more than anything, our team has bonded more than we have ever before. We are there for each other in ways we have never been there for each other. We are going to be successful if we continue to do that.
On the team's performance tonight: I liked the way that we moved the ball. If we lost the ball, everyone on the team would work together to get it back. I think that will be key for us in the future.
Head coach Angela Kelly
On the changes: First and foremost we want to win. What we really want to do is build soccer-minded individuals who play what they see and make their own decisions on the field. Ultimately, we want to play very attractively. We want to keep possession of the ball, but if our opponent is going to stay up and make a lot of space behind, we want to be able to execute. The ultimate goal is to score more than the competition. We want to play what the game gives us.
On tonight's match: I was pleased in the first half with the opportunities created, but we were anxious. Our new players were anxious about their first game as a Longhorn, and our returning players were anxious about starting the season. I think this is a great team. As a staff, the things we wanted to see tonight, we were able to see. I am pleased with the togetherness of this group.
