TEAM NOTES
- The series: The Longhorns leads the all-time series 6-1, but this was their first trip to Oxford. Texas has an all-time record of 189-89-1 against teams currently playing in the SEC. Vanderbilt (3-8-1) and South Carolina (1-0) are the only teams with winning records vs. Texas.
- Attendance: The attendance was 61,797, the fourth largest in Ole Miss history and most since the school-record 62,657 fans at the 2009 Alabama game. It was also the largest crowd ever for a nonconference game in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
- Quick Out of the Gate: The Horns have started 3-0 for the sixth straight season.
- Scoring Burst: The Horns posted their highest point total since defeating Colorado 70-3 in the 2005 Big 12 Championship game. It also marked the most points yielded by Ole Miss in 95 years (69-7 loss to Sewanee, Nov. 10, 1917).
- 500 Yards of Offense: There have been 51 games of 500 or more total yards during Mack Brown's tenure. Texas recorded over 500 yards four times in 2011 with a season-high 595 yards of total offense against Texas Tech and 590 yards against Kansas. Texas posted 676 total yards of offense vs. Ole Miss, which is tied for second on the school's single-game list (692 vs. Rice in 1998; 676 vs. SMU, 1969).
- 700 All-Purpose Yards: The Longhorns posted 783 all-purpose yards (676 total offense/74 kickoff returns/33 interception returns) which was tied for the sixth-highest total in school history. Texas has posted more than 700 all-purpose yards in 25 games, with 15 of those occurrences taking place under Mack Brown.
- 300 Rushing/300 Passing: The Horns posted more than 300 rushing (350) and 300 passing yards (326) for the third time in school history and first time in a road game. The last occurrence was in 2009 vs. UTEP (304 rushing/325 passing). The first time it occurred was in 1990 when the Horns rushed for 304 yards and passed for 322 vs. Houston.
- Defensive scores: UT scored its first defensive TD of the season when Steve Edmond returned a Bo Wallace interception 22 yards for a touchdown. It was Texas' first interception for a TD since Carrington Byndom went 58 yards for score vs. Texas A&M. Emmanuel Acho was the last UT linebacker to score on an interception return (57 yards vs. Florida Atlantic, Nov. 20, 2010).
- Two 100-yard Receivers: Marquise Goodwin (102) and Mike Davis (124) each posted 100 receiving yards. It marked the 12th time in school history that feat occurred. Goodwin (5-129) and Jaxon Shipley (4-121) each went over 100 receiving yards last season at Baylor.
- Two 100-yard Receivers/100-Yard Rusher: The Horns had a 100-yard rusher (Malcolm Brown, 128) and two 100-yard receivers (Marquise Goodwin - 102; Mike Davis - 124) in the same game for the second time in school history. It first occurred in 2008 vs. Oklahoma when Chris Ogbonnaya rushed for 127 yards, and Quan Cosby (122) and Jordan Shipley (112) had more than 100 receiving yards.
- Sack Attack: The Longhorns posted five sacks in the game (all in the first half). Texas had two over the first two games, while Ole Miss had surrendered just four to the opposition this season.
- Points off Turnovers: Texas cashed in on both Ole Miss first-half turnovers and its one in the second half. Steve Edmond scored on a 33-yard interception return and tallied a touchdown after Quandre Diggs' pick of Bo Wallace. Diggs had an interception in the third quarter which was also turned into a Longhorn touchdown. The Longhorns have outscored the opposition 42-0 this season off turnovers. The Horns have forced seven turnovers and committed just one.
- Third-down efficiency: The Horns came into the game fifth in the FBS in third-down conversions (19 of 31 61.3 percent) and were 7 of 12 (58.3%) in third-down efficiency this evening.
- Efficient drives: The Longhorns have scored on 21 of their last 29 possessions (72.4 percent) this season, including 9 of 12 vs. Ole Miss.

- The win gives Mack Brown 230 career victories which places him 13th in NCAA history. He entered tonight's game tied with Jim Tressel. Next on the list is Hayden Fry who posted 232 wins in his career.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
David Ash, QB
- Started his ninth career game.
- Completed 19 of 23 passes for a career-high 326 yards and a career-best four TDs. He has thrown seven touchdowns his season and no interceptions.
- Ash's connected on 15 straight passes in the game. He had an incompletion on his second pass of the game (first quarter) and then missed on his 18th attempt (third quarter). The school record is 18 set by Colt McCoy vs. Oklahoma State in 2008.
- He has 96 consecutive passing attempts without an interception. Last interception was against K-State on Nov. 19, 2011.
Malcolm Brown, QB
- Posted 128 rushing yards (second-highest total of his career) on 21 carries. He scored two rushing touchdowns for the second time in his career. He needs 20 yards to reach 1,000 in his career.
Mike Davis, WR
- Posted five receptions for a career-high 124 yards. He has four 100-yard receiving games.
Quandre Diggs, CB
- Recorded sixth-career interception (second of the season) to end Ole Miss's second-quarter drive in UT territory. The Horns went down the field to score their fourth TD of the half. He added his second pick of the game at the end of the third quarter.
Marquise Goodwin, WR
- Fresh off a trip to the White House with his Olympic teammates, Goodwin scored on a 69-yard run in the second quarter. It was the sixth touchdown of his career (four receiving/one KR), but his first on the ground. It was the longest rushing score by UT since Jamaal Charles went 75 yards vs. Oklahoma State (11/3/07). He later scored on a 55-yard pass from David Ash, his seventh career touchdown. Goodwin had a career-high 198 all-purpose yards (102 receiving/80 rushing/16 kickoff returns).
Marquise Goodwin traveled about 1,500 miles to Washington, D.C., on Thursday to meet President Obama with his U.S. Olympic teammates on Friday morning. He traveled another 900 miles to get to Oxford for tonight's game, arriving at the team hotel in Memphis late Friday night. All totaled, he traveled about 2,400 miles in two days to play in the game.

It was a challenging couple days of travel, but the experience was well worth it. It was second to none. I was so proud to represent the Longhorns at the White House. Jackson Jeffcoat, DE
- Recorded his second sack of the season in the first quarter and now has 12.5 in his career. He has posted at least one sack in eight of the last 10 games and has 10 over the span.
Brandon Moore, DT
- Posted his first-career sack in the first quarter.
Alex Okafor, DE
- Posted two sacks in the first half and has three on the season which leads the team.
