Notes at a Glance
• Texas plays its first non-conference true road game in Karen Aston's tenure with a trip to Albuquerque, N.M., to face the New Mexico Lobos on Tuesday (8 p.m. CT). The all-time series between Texas and New Mexico is tied, 3-3.
• Former Longhorn standout Edwina Brown is in her second season as an assistant coach for New Mexico. As a student-athlete at Texas from 1996-2000, Brown was a two-time All-American and recipient of the Margaret Wade Award in 2000, presented to the nation's top player.
• The last time Texas and New Mexico played was on Nov. 17, 2006, marking the 1,000th game for Hall of Fame head coach Jody Conradt with the Longhorns.
• Last week Texas signed a recruiting class ranked No. 10 by ESPN.com.
• The Longhorns improved to 2-0 with a 54-point victory over Texas State last Wednesday (96-42). Junior forward Nneka Enemkpali led the Longhorns with 22 points and 17 rebounds — 10 of which were on the offensive end.
• Texas is holding opponents to 42.0 points per game with an average scoring margin of +37.5. The Longhorns are limiting opponents to a .236 field goal percentage, including a .117 mark from beyond the arc.
• Senior guard Chassidy Fussell leads UT in scoring this season (16.0 ppg). Fussell has led the Longhorns in scoring in each of the last three seasons, entering Tuesday with 1,437 career points (15.6 career ppg).
• Texas is receiving votes in the latest Associated Press top 25.
• Imani McGee-Stafford was named to the Preseason All-Big 12 Team and junior Nneka Enemkpali was named Honorable Mention Preseason All-Big 12. Last season the duo co-led UT in rebounding (9.4 rpg) and accounted for 26 double-doubles (13 each).
• Texas Women's Basketball is in its 40th season of competition. UT is the seventh-winningest program in NCAA Women's Basketball history with a 935-344 (.731) record through the previous 39 seasons.
