Texas Baseball and Softball: It’s time to play ball!

Nothing beats a great spring day at UFCU Disch-Falk Field or Red and Charline McCombs Field as you cheer the Longhorns on to another victory. The 2014 Baseball and Softball seasons are very promising for both of these programs and the best time to get season tickets and show your support is right now!

Texas Baseball has turned the corner and is coming into the 2014 season with a renewed sense of confidence and lineup that can compete for another conference title. The Longhorns return all three starting pitchers from last season's weekend rotation, along with five other contributors, that combined to rank seventh nationally last season in ERA (2.61). Senior Mark Payton ranked 12th in the country and had a .393 batting average last year. Mark was drafted in the 16th round by the Cleveland Indians, but instead chose to return this season. Texas also welcomes 13 newcomers to the program that made up the second-ranked recruiting class in the nation, according to Baseball America.

Texas Softball looks to improve on one of the most successful seasons in the history of the program. Last year, the Longhorns ended the year ranked No. 3 in the nation and are bringing back a plethora of talent, led by seniors Mandy Ogle, Taylor Thom, Karina Scott and Brejae Washington. Thanks to the support of the fans, Texas was able to go 29-3 at McCombs Field last season. Head Coach Connie Clark welcomes an outstanding freshman class, which will fit in perfectly with the wealth of returning talent. The 2014 season is shaping up to be another successful year and we want you to be part of it again.

NEW SEASON TICKET HOLDERS

Both teams will have great home schedules where many games have the potential to sell out. As a season ticket holder, you will have the best available reserved seats to witness all the action.
