AUSTIN, Texas - No. 7 Texas Women's Track & Field will host the annual Longhorn Invitational this Saturday, April 20, at Mike A. Myers Stadium. UT's second-straight home meet, it will be the final tune-up before the Big 12 Outdoor Championships May 3-5. Field events will begin at Noon Central while running events will start at 3 p.m.
WHO'S COMPETING
With the distance squad racing at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif., today and tomorrow, 16 Longhorns will compete on Saturday in the sprints and field disciplines. They include seniors Natasha Masterson, Chalonda Goodman and Kendra Chambers; juniors A'Lexus Brannon, Danielle Dowie and Briana Nelson; sophomores Morgan Snow, Chamique Francis and Kaitlin Petrillose and freshmen Courtney Okolo, Melissa Gonzalez, Bernice Bamgbade, Kiersten Duncan, Cody McCrary, Caroline Cartwright and Megan McGhee.
LAST WEEKEND AT THE TEXAS INVITATIONAL
Last Saturday, the Longhorns notched four victories overall in the 400m, 800m, 100m and 1,500m with 12 additional top-five finishes and nine personal-best marks at the Texas Invitational in Austin. Freshman Courtney Okolo put forth her best individual effort of the outdoor season, beginning with a win in the 400m. Okolo crossed in a personal-best 52.52 seconds, the top mark for a Longhorn this season and the sixth-fastest time in the nation. Also earning wins were Kendra Chambers in the 800m (2:06.73), Christy Udoh in the 100m (11.63) and Mia Behm in the 1,500m (4:27.45).
LAST YEAR AT THE LONGHORN INVITATIONAL
UT claimed 13 victories at the 2012 Longhorn Invitational, including one in the 100-meter hurdles from then freshman Morgan Snow (13.42). Danielle Dowie took home the 400m hurdles crown in 56.59, while A'Lexus Brannon won the long jump with a leap of 6.06 meters (19-10.75). Natasha Masterson claimed victory in pole vault (4.05m/13-03.50), and Kendra Chambers won the 800m in 2:08.48. Briana Nelson was also the top collegiate finisher in the 400m and second overall with a time of 52.80.
IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
Six of the Longhorns' marks through their first four meets of the outdoor season currently hold top-10 spots in the national rankings, with four of them landing in the top five.

Texas has 11 marks that currently rank in the top 10 in the West Region, five of which are in the top five.

WHAT'S NEXT
The Longhorns will train for two weeks before traveling to Waco for the conference outdoor meet. Texas will then host the NCAA West Regional meet May 23-25 leading up to the NCAA Outdoor Championships, which will take place June 5-8 in Eugene, Ore.

Parking
A number of parking garages are within walking distance of Mike A. Myers Stadium, with Manor Garage located on the west side of the facility. Rates are $12 per day with no in and out privileges. Parking rules and fees are administrated by University of Texas Parking & Transportation Services. Team Bus Parking
Buses will be allowed to drop off teams on the south curb line of Clyde Littlefield Drive between Robert Dedman Drive and Red River Street (athletes can then enter Myers Stadium through Gate 4). A limited amount of team bus parking is available on the southbound west curb line of Red River Street, between Clyde Littlefield Drive and Robert Dedman Drive in the "metered" spots. We encourage teams to utilize those spots for team bus parking.
