TexasSports.com introduces Volleyball newcomer Chiaka Ogbogu, a freshman middle blocker from Coppell, Texas. The 2012 Gatorade Texas Volleyball Player of the Year and 2012-13 TGCA (Texas Girls Coaches Association) 4A-5A Player of the Year, Ogbogu led Coppell to back-to-back Texas 5A state championships in 2011 and 2012.
First impressions of coach Jerritt Elliott: My first impression was that he is very focused and determined, but at the same time a little bit goofy.
Biggest influence on my life: My biggest influence in my life cannot be narrowed down to just one person. My mother, Celestine Nixon and Mona Logan (mothers of my friends that passed away) are the biggest influences.
My dream as a Longhorn is … : to win more than one national championship!

What are you most thankful for: I'm most thankful for the opportunity to live out my dream
