TexasSports.com introduces Volleyball newcomer Pilar Victoria, a freshman outside hitter from Caguas, Puerto Rico. Victoria brings to the Forty Acres a wealth of international playing experience, as she was named team captain for the 2013 Puerto Rico Junior National Team that competed at the FIVB World Championship in the Czech Republic this summer. She joined the Puerto Rico Adult National Team at the age of 16 and played in the Pan American Cup in Mexico as the team qualified for the 2013 Grand Prix in Brazil.
First impressions of coach Jerritt Elliott: The first time I talked with Jerritt was in Puerto Rico and I said in my mind, "why he is so serious? I'm scared." However, now I can say that he cares about his players and I'm not scared.
Biggest influence on my life: God and my family.
My dream as a Longhorn is … : to win a national championship and make my mark at UT.
My playing style is … : high energy, quick, athletics and competitive.
What are you most thankful for: I'm most thankful for my family and the people that somehow helped me to develop as a person and player.
Before each match, I: listen to music and I start dancing.
Most memorable volleyball achievement: winning a bronze medal in the NORCECA 2010 and winning an All-American trophy at AAU 2012.
The best thing about the Gregory Gym is: the UT fans and the overall environment.
The best thing about Austin is: there's always something to do.
One word that describes me: perfectionist.
My friends say I … : am quiet and funny.
Role model: my parents.
The best sporting event I ever attended was: the final match of the Youth World Volleyball Tournament betwen Turkey and China.
You won't catch me eating: pickles.
Nobody knows how much I love to: sing in the shower.

If I could live any place in the world, it would be: Suiza.

One thing I am most passionate about is … : volleyball, for sure!
My bucket list includes: swimming with dolphins, visiting the top of the Eiffel Tower, traveling to Las Vegas, parachuting from an airplane, seeing Whitehaven Beach in Australia, vacationing in Cancun, Mexico, and to hold a baby tiger!
