Texas-Ex Feigen helps U.S. to bronze medal at FINA Short Course World Championships

London Olympian and former Longhorn Jimmy Feigen led off the 4x100m freestyle relay in Wednesday’s finals.
DOHA, Qatar – Texas-Ex Jimmy Feigen helped the United States' 4x100-meter freestyle relay to a bronze medal Wednesday evening on day one of the FINA Short Course World Championships. The bi-annual event features racing contested in a 25-meter pool rather than the standard 50-meter pool utilized during most international events, including the Olympic Games.
Feigen led off the relay in 47.41 seconds in Wednesday's finals, and the Americans went on to win bronze in 3 minutes, 5.58 seconds. France won the gold in 3:03.78 while Russia claimed silver in 3:04.18. The San Antonio native also competed in the event's preliminary round and anchored the relay to fourth place in prelims at 3:08.05 with a 46.98 anchor split.
A three-time NCAA champion at Texas (2009-12), Feigen helped the U.S. to silver in the 4x100m freestyle relay at the London Olympics.
