The Longhorns matched their best single-round team score of the spring season in Saturday’s second round.
TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Texas Women's Golf team combined for its best single-round team score of the spring season - a 4-over-par 292 - in Saturday's second round of the PING/ASU Invitational at Karsten Golf Course to remain in ninth-place at +10 (294-292=586). Sophomore Natalie Karcher (71-72=143) continued to lead the Longhorns with an even-par 72 and enters Sunday's final round tied for 12th place at +1.
Karcher overcame an early bogey on the second hole with her first of four birdies at No. 5. Even through nine after a bogey-birdie finish on Nos. 8-9, Karcher sank her second-straight birdie on No. 10 to dip to red numbers. She held steady at -1 after a birdie-bogey-birdie-bogey stretch on Nos. 12-15, but a final bogey on No. 18 resulted in the even-par round.
