EUGENE, Ore. - Freshman Kendall Baisden advanced to the final of the 400 meters at the IAAF World Junior Championships with her second-straight solid performance.
Baisden clocked a time of 52.52 seconds in Thursday's semifinal at Oregon's Hayward Field, winning heat two and posting the second-best overall mark of the round. She had the top time (53.28) in Wednesday's prelim.
The final is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. Central Friday. Baisden is one of two Americans in the final. Olivia Baker joins Baisden among the eight qualifiers.
Baisden is also in the pool for the 4x400-meter relay. The prelim for that event is scheduled for Saturday. She ran a leg on the winning 4x400m relay unit at the 2012 IAAF World Junior Championships.
The six-day meet that concludes Sunday.
