- Texas enters its match against No. 1 and defending national champion UCLA owning a 0-4 record all-time against top-ranked teams. All four previous meetings came against perennial power North Carolina with UT dropping matches to the No. 1 Tarheels on Sept. 12, 2003 (L 0-1, 2OT), Sept. 15, 2002 (L 2-3), Aug. 31, 2001 (L, 0-1) and Aug. 25, 2000 (L 2-9). UT is 0-2 at home versus No. 1, having hosted the losses to UNC in 2000 & 2001.
- The Longhorns are 21-17-8 all-time against members of the Pac-12 Conference, including 0-0-1 in 2014 following their 2-2 (2OT) deadlock against Arizona State in Waipahu, Hi. UT is 1-0 all-time vs. UCLA, having topped the Bruins back on Sept. 2, 2007, in a neutral site match in Houston, Texas, 2-1.
- Texas currently rides a 13-match home unbeaten streak into its high-profile tilt against No. 1 UCLA. The last time the Horns suffered a loss at Mike A. Myers Stadium occurred back on Oct. 26, 2012, during a 1-0 (OT) defeat to No. 19 West Virginia. The 13-match unbeaten skein is the fourth-longest in program history.
- The Longhorns currently rank second in the NCAA Division I statistics (trailing only second-ranked Virginia Tech with 75) in corner kicks with 72 over eight matches for a 9.0 corner-per-match average. With 11 regular-season contests remaining, if UT keeps up its the current pace of earning corners, this year's squad would break the school record of 162 set back in 2003 before entering any potential postseason action. Texas has scored twice off corner kicks this season with Brooke Gilbert finishing both scores during the 5-1 win over Nevada on Aug. 31. West Virginia has earned 60 corners in 2014 to trail Texas for the top spot in the Big 12 standings.

- During head coach Angela Kelly's three seasons in charge of the Longhorns program, defense has played a big role in the squad's success. Texas owns an 18-5-2 mark when holding opponents under 10 shots in a match. UT was 6-3 in 2012, 8-2-1 in 2013 and is unbeaten at 4-0-1 thus far in 2014 when holding its foes to nine or fewer total shots. This season in those instances, the Horns tied Arizona State (eight shots) and defeated Hawai'i (eight shots), Nevada (nine shots), Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (three shots) and Montana (six shots).
- Lightning delays have become an unfortunate theme for the 'Horns in 2014. After a 2:03 delay pushed back the start of UT's match against No. 25 Arkansas on Aug. 29, Texas and UCF sat through a 1:45 break in Tampa, Fla., on Sept. 12.
