- Texas might have dropped a hard-fought, 1-0 decision to No. 1 UCLA on Sept. 19, but the Longhorns played the defending national champions as tough as anyone in 2014. The Bruins entered the match at UT having allowed just 18 total shots and four shots on goal COMBINED over seven matches. The Burnt Orange & White managed to put three shots on frame, the most of any team this season, and tallied five total shots to equal the highest single-match output by any squad so far.
- Following the Sept. 5th, 6-0 rout of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas, under third year head coach Angela Kelly, is 6-4-1 against teams from the state of Texas. UT is a solid 4-1 against Lone Star State squads in the friendly confines of Mike A. Myers Stadium, 2-3 on the road and 0-0-1 at neutral sites.
- The Longhorns are 3-0-0 all-time against members of the Sun Belt Conference, having yet to allow a single goal to a league foe. Texas holds perfect marks against Sunday's opponent Texas State (W, 3-0 - Sept. 20, 2013), Arkansas-Little Rock (W, 3-0 - Oct. 16, 1994) and South Alabama (W, 2-0 - Oct. 14, 1994).
- Texas possesses just a 6-11-1 record in road matches under head coach Angela Kelly but has seen a recent run of success markedly improve that total. UT is 4-2-1 over its last seven true road matches, including a 2-1 record in 2014 with wins at Hawai'i (2-1) and at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi as well as a 2-0 loss at USF.
- During head coach Angela Kelly's three seasons in charge of the Longhorns program, defense has played a big role in the squad's success. Texas owns an 18-5-2 mark when holding opponents under 10 shots in a match. UT was 6-3 in 2012, 8-2-1 in 2013 and is unbeaten at 4-0-1 thus far in 2014 when holding its foes to nine or fewer total shots. This season in those instances, the Horns tied Arizona State (eight shots) and defeated Hawai'i (eight shots), Nevada (nine shots), Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (three shots) and Montana (six shots).
