No. 22 Women's Tennis tops DePaul, 4-3

Longhorns take on Vanderbilt on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT for a berth at the ITA National Team Indoor Championship.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – No. 22 Texas (1-0) won the doubles point and added singles wins from Breaunna Addison, Ryann Foster and Danielle Wagland in a 4-3 win over DePaul (0-1) Saturday in the first round of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend event. The Longhorns meet host No. 12 Vanderbilt on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT, and the winner will advance to next month's ITA National Team Indoor Championship.
Texas led off the match with wins at first and third doubles to claim the doubles point and a 1-0 lead. Addison joined Foster to post a 6-4 win over Ana Vladutu and Patricia Fargas at first doubles. After a DePaul win at second doubles, UT sealed the doubles point when Ratnika Batra and Neda Koprcina edged DePaul's Yuliya Shupenia and Rebeca Mitrea in a tiebreaker at third doubles.
Addison staked Texas to a 2-0 lead behind her 6-2, 6-3 win over the Blue Demons' 93rd-ranked Patricia Lacranjan at first singles. DePaul cut the Texas lead to 2-1 before UT's Foster notched a three-set win over Vladutu at second singles to give the Horns a 3-1 lead.
DePaul won at the third and fourth singles positions to even the match, but Wagland put away the win behind her 6-7, 6-1, 6-2 victory over the Blue Demons' Mitrea at sixth singles.
