Ninth-ranked Longhorns improve to 5-0 with a road win over the Mustangs.

RESULTS
DALLAS, Texas -- Texas Men's Tennis defeated SMU, 4-2, on Saturday in front of a packed house at the new SMU Tennis Complex.
The Longhorns were edged in the doubles point, but recovered with four singles victories to improve to 5-0 on the season. Senior Adrien Berkowicz clinched the match for the Longhorns with a 6-4, 6-4, win at No. 3 singles over SMU's Samm Butler.
"I want to congratulate SMU for creating a great atmosphere in their new facility," Head Coach Michael Center said. "It made it a special day to be a college tennis student-athlete."
SMU took the opening doubles point with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions. UT's lone doubles victory came from 51st-ranked Lloyd Glasspool and Soren Hess-Olesen over SMU's Arturs Kazijevs and Markus Kerner, 6-4, at court No. 1.
The Longhorns swung momentum at the start of singles play by winning five-of-six first sets.
Glasspool put the Longhorns on the scoreboard after defeating SMU's Kerner, 6-4, 6-4, at court No. 2. SMU answered as Arkadijs Slobodkins defeated Michael Riechmann, 6-2, 7-5 at the No. 5 position.
Junior Nick Naumann tied the team score for Texas by defeating SMU's Nate Lammons on court four, 7-6(2), 6-3. At No. 1 singles, 13th-ranked Hess-Olesen earned his seventh consecutive win at No. 1 singles to give UT a 3-2 lead.
The Longhorns sealed the win as 48th-ranked Berkowicz defeated Butler in straight sets at court three.
UT's final tune-up before ITA National Indoor Championships (Feb. 13-16) will be a pair of home matches at the Weller Indoor Tennis Center against No. 62 Washington on Friday, Feb. 6 and No. 75 Rice on Sunday, Feb. 8.
