NOTES
• Texas hosts a pair of home matches at the Weller Indoor Tennis Center on Friday against No. 62 Washington and on Sunday against Rice.
• TOP-RANKED IN TEXAS: The Longhorns have been ranked No. 9 in all four ITA Rankings this season, and as the top-ranked team in the ITA Texas Region for the last two weeks. Texas has been ranked in the top-10 in 16 of the last 17 polls dating back to last season. Two student-athletes -- No. 13 Søren Hess-Olesen and No. 48 Adrien Berkowicz -- represent Texas in the singles rankings.
• TRIO OF UNDEFEATED LONGHORNS: Søren Hess-Olesen (5-0), Adrien Berkowicz (5-0) and Nick Naumann (5-0) are undefeated in dual match play this season. Hess-Olesen is a two-time All-American and enters the weekend with seven consecutive victories and a 15-2 overall record. Berkowicz leads the team in total singles wins (17-6), including five over ranked opponents. Naumann, the reigning Big 12 regular season champion at No. 5 singles, has won nine of his last 10 matches.
• STRONG SINGLES: Texas holds a 20-7 (.741) record in singles competition during dual match play. The Longhorns have at least four singles wins in each dual match this season, including an undefeated record at lines one, two and four.
• ALL-AMERICANS: The Longhorns return a pair of ITA All-Americans this season -- seniors Søren Hess-Olesen and Lloyd Glasspool. Hess-Olesen, a 2014 NCAA Singles Championship semifinalist, has earned All-American honors in singles twice (2013, 2014). Glasspool and Hess-Olesen earned doubles All-American honors last season as quarterfinalists in the NCAA Doubles Championship.
• COACH CENTER: Head Coach Michael Center is in his 15th season at Texas (289-102; .735) and his 24th overall as a head coach (447-170; .722).
• LAST TIME OUT: Texas defeated SMU, 4-2, on Jan. 31, in front of a packed house at the new SMU Tennis Complex in Dallas. The Longhorns were edged in the doubles point, but recovered with four singles victories to improve to 5-0 on the season. Senior Adrien Berkowicz clinched the match for the Longhorns with a 6-4, 6-4, win at No. 3 singles over SMU's Samm Butler.
• NEXT MATCHES: After UT's pair of home matches this weekend, the Longhorns will compete in the ITA National Indoor Championship in Chicago, which begins on Friday, Feb. 13.
