What were the major reasons you decided Texas was the right place for you to come to school and play soccer? I was born "bleeding orange." I'm from Austin and have been going to UT sporting events since I was a baby. My parents had a basically burnt orange-painted kitchen at one point. Texas is also the best public university in the country, has a great business school and treats its athletes very well and strives to be the best at everything.
What do you hope to do for a career following your playing days at Texas? I'm currently majoring in finance and plan to minor in marketing or accounting. I'm not really sure yet what I want to do, but hopefully it will be something involving finance, the energy industry or sports.
What are three interesting things about you that people don't know?
I love brunch! There's NOTHING better than working out and then having a huge feast of eggs, bacon, omelettes, pancakes, fruit, oatmeal…YUM!
My family has a golden retriever named Lily, and I am obsessed with her. She's basically the sister I never had and is the main reason I go home. Sorry mom and dad!!
I'm an only child, and I also love Brussels sprouts.
If you had a full weekend off from soccer what would you do to fill all that time if you could literally do anything or go anywhere? I would start off my day with a morning run around Town Lake and then find a new restaurant to eat a huge brunch with friends & family. Next, if it were warm outside, I would probably drive out to Lake LBJ, which is one of my favorite places.
What's your favorite athletic memory or most memorable win from your time playing soccer at Texas? Definitely assisting the ball to Olivia Brook that she scored to beat No. 6 Texas Tech in overtime last season at Myers Stadium.
Where do you see yourself in the next 10 years? I'm not sure what job I'll have, but hopefully it will be something I enjoy and have a passion for, perhaps in finance, the energy industry or sports. I also could see myself getting into marathons and triathlons after I'm done playing.
What's your favorite class at Texas? I have really enjoyed my marketing class this semester because it has made me much more aware of all the products and advertising around me. Plus, in some sense it is the study of people and involves much more creativity than finance or accounting.
Who's your favorite soccer player of all time? My favorite player is Dani Alves of FC Barcelona and the Brazilian National Team. He was the first player I saw play outside back with an attacking flare. He's constantly scoring and assisting on goals despite being a defender.
Where's the best place you've ever been on a road trip, vacation or school trip? The best soccer trip I've been on was to Hawai'i during the 2014 season. It was incredible to get to play two great matches and also stay on the beach for six days. The best vacation I've taken was a trip to London, England, with my dad. We did all of the touristy things and went to a Chelsea FC match. That trip made me want to see all of Europe.
What do you hope people will remember about you from your time playing soccer at the University of Texas? I hope people will remember my passion for the game on the field and my work ethic. My parents always taught me that you can control your attitude and effort, so I strive to always be positive and give 100%.
