No. 25 Women's Tennis falls to No. 30 Pepperdine, 5-2

Longhorns claim the doubles point and a singles win from sophomore Neda Koprcina.
MALIBU, Calif. – No. 25 Texas (2-2) won the doubles point and added a singles win from sophomore Neda Koprcina, but No. 30 Pepperdine (3-2) posted a 5-2 win over the Longhorns Saturday afternoon at Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center.
Pepperdine opened the match with a win at No. 2 doubles, but Texas won the remaining matches at the third and first doubles positions to win the doubles point. Seniors Lina Padegimaite and Annat Rabinovich led the Horns' doubles rally with an 8-3 win over Matea Cutura and Laura Gulbe at third doubles.
The freshman tandem of Ryann Foster and Dani Wagland took Pepperdine's Lorraine Guillermo and Apichaya Runglerdkriangkrai into a tiebreaker at first doubles and prevailed by a 7-4 count to seal the doubles point.
Pepperdine assumed a 2-1 lead behind singles wins at the sixth and first positions before UT's Koprcina evened the match by way of her 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 win over Runglerdkriangkrai at third singles. The Waves, however, closed the match with three-set wins at the fifth, fourth and second positions to preserve the 5-2 win.
Texas closes its southern California road swing on Sunday when it visits No. 12 USC. First serve is set for noon local time at Marks Tennis Stadium.
