LOS ANGELES – No. 25 Texas (2-3) suffered a 7-0 loss at the hands of No. 12 USC (8-1) Sunday afternoon at USC's Marks Tennis Stadium.
The Trojans won a pair of doubles matches at the second and third positions to lock up the doubles point and a 1-0 lead. The remaining match at first doubles was suspended.
USC assumed a 6-0 lead before UT freshman Dani Wagland entered a third-set super-tiebreaker against the 72nd-ranked Gabby Smith at fourth singles. Wagland nearly finished off an upset victory, but Smith managed to hold off the Australian by an 11-9 count to seal USC's 7-0 win.
